Post NCAA Ramblings

With no stake in the tournament except for the hope of nail biters, here is a list of prognostications:

Dion Waiters will make an excellent pro, provided he continues to work hard. He has the body and the temperament to compete in the league now, he just needs to learn some control. Being under a veteran he respects will do him wonders. Otherwise I do fear he could potentially flame out.

Fab Melo will get worked by most of the centers in the league in his rookie year. But if he can hang tough and improve he may yet turn into something. If he is not drafted expect him to play internationally, which could possibly allow him to develop faster.

Scoop and K-Jo are both still far too sloppy with the ball to make it big in the pro's, though I am going to be pulling for each of them to get this solidified and end up in good situations where they can grow.

Jim Boeheim, when he finally does retire, could rival Bob Knight as the best commentator in college basketball. I am willing to bet he would have the best prediction accuracy of any analyst on ESPN's staff and that his in studio analysis would get him into verbal sparring matches with the likes of Doug Gottleib.

Michael Carter Williams and Trevor Cooney could gel into a formidable back court tandem, but without the development of a swing man will see their tourney life cut short as well.

The ACC will be a cold, cold home for us, and we will ache for the Big East very soon.

Beyond that, here's hoping for a drama free summer, an excellent graduation rate, and student athletes, coaches and staff who display class, dignity and respect for their University and the game.

  1. Jimmy isn't retiring this year right?! I'm fairly certain that the Book Of Revelations has that as one of the signs of the Apocalypse.

    *Shudder*
